    Gel Nails

I have read your tips and information sections on gel/acrylic products but I wonder if you have suggestions in terms of climate.  I live in Central Maine and I am finding there is ALOT of interest from people regarding gel nails and many people are wanting to give them a shot.  There are very few.... if any local salons offering these as I hear the "acrylics are stronger and the best" from several nail salons/technicians.  I am trying to select a gel product to really invest some time in trying in an area where people are eager to "see what it looks like and how well it flies".  I understand the logic behind encouraging people to find what works for them but do you have any special recommendations where Maine Climate & Temperature are concerned and could you possibly narrow down the "choices" out there?  I hate to bring this to the area only to see it fail.... I AM VERY EAGER TO GIVE IT A TRY AND PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!  I read in one of your articles that you really like the Avante Systems Gel after giving it a try but don't find it in your store.  I also notice you referenced Star Gel Nails in a few different places.  Do you recommend either of these as a good place to start?  ANY advice you could give me would help as I am quite anxious to get started on this!!! Thank you for your time.

    Re: Gel Nails

     Hi Christie,

    1. Climate and Temperature should not affect how gel works. Gel is dried / cured by UV ray from your UV light.

    2. I agree, it is very confused to which gel is the best since there are so many of them.

    3. Barb used to make her own gel "Avante" many years ago. Times has changed. She is no longer making it.

    4. We carry several different gel system: NSI, LeChat, Star Nail, Elfa....All of them should work, DEPEND on how you want to use it.

Best thing to do: give me a call I can help and walk you through each of these products.

    My direct number 847-260-4001.

     Best regards,
